Chalet ExplorAider - Our Mountain Training Chalet

The chalet is the base camp for ExplorAider's mountain activities, many of which are centered around the nearby Mont Blanc massif. The chalet is a comfortable place to stay and is used by small groups in conjunction with satellite accommodation nearby. As well as act as the centre to meet your guides, plan your trips, check equipment and safety briefs, it is also a social hub for our clients to socialise with other ExplorAider groups and guides and to participate in evening presentations and workshops related to our mountain activities.

Our Mobile Adventure Safari Units

Our Mobile Adventure Safari Units have been designed to offer an optimal mixture of comfort and flexibility.
Flexibility so that we can have the ability to take you and all the equipment we need to places that other operators cannot reach.
Comfort so that you do not need to compromise whether you are in the bush or sleeping on a white sand beach next to a wild river in Africa .

Based in the charming village of Servoz, our training chalet is ideally located for access to all of our mountain based activities, skiing, winter and summer alpinism and rock climbing.

The chalet is hosted by Yves Salino a mountaineer, skier and climber of over 20 years experience with some big summits, including Everest, under his belt.

The chalet is the base for all of our equipment, which you can utilise.

In the evening there will be the opportunity to participate in workshops / training sessions relevant to your activities or of general interest including:

• Off-piste skiing techniques
• Avalanche awareness
• Glacier / mountain rescue techniques
• Mountain expedition planning
• Climbing techniques and theory

The centre has 4 private double / twin rooms and a dormitory room. In addition satellite accomodation is provided by gites and hotels within 500m of the centre.

All activities leave from the centre, which acts as your meeting point with your ExplorAider guides, from where after a kit check with your guide, you will be escorted to the starting point of your experience. The centre allows you to safely leave all of your kit which you do not require when you depart for the day or for multi-day mountain trips

The centre is fully equipped and you will be served food and refreshments by our attentive staff. ExplorAider can provide for a full range of ancillary services, for example if you wish to receive a sports massage, we have a visiting masseuse.

The centre also can provide flexible baby sitting services for couples who would like to ski, learn to climb or try out mountaineering. Young children will be attended to by trained chalet staff, older children can be entertained by a range of activities available in the environs by qualified staff, these activities include snow-trekking, learning to climb (indoors and outdoors), forest activities, tobogganning, nature trips. These services can be arranged on a daily basis or for the duration of your stay, please contact ExplorAider for the supplementary cost of this service.

ExplorAider is the proud owner of 8000 Hectares (80km squared) of border wilderness land in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, between Jeffries Bay and Port Elizabeth. Leopard Mountain is ExplorAider's home in South Africa and this hugely powerful landscape that will not fail to leave a deep impression on you.

Run by ExplorAider's Harry and Saskia Bateman, Leopard Mountain is a little explored wilderness paradise waiting to be discovered.

There are various activities and expedition opportunities available on the farm: Kayaking the wild Kouga River, visiting the 2000 year old cave paintings created by the sun-worshipping San people, tracking the endangered Cape Mountain Leopard, climbing untouched climbing routes, swimming in hidden rock pools and learning the intricacies of the flora and fauna around you.

A number of conservation organisations have combined efforts to set up rehabilitation programs on the farm. These include; Work for Water and the WWF- among others.

Moored in the idylic national park of Hyeres in France, the Catamaran can be reached by a 2 minute walk from Toulon airport or a 10 minute drive from Hyeres railway station, which is well connected to Paris with direct fast trains.

The Catamaran is a luxury and versatile option for sea adventure safaris around the French coast and other parts of the Mediterranean, such as Corsica and Sardinia.

The cat is equipped with a crew and all the facilities to make it an ideal floating base for our sea adventure safaris.

The crew can include qualified guides who can teach you to climb the sea cliffs, kite surf or wind surf from the boat.

You can learn to sail the catamaran and establish your own program with the support of our small and flexible crew.

There are many places to sleep on the boat, including the 4 double berths, the two cabins and the trampoline decks when the weather is good, this is a also the option of going onshore and sleeping under the stars on wild beaches, this is all part of the adventure safari.

A unique concept to ExplorAider which consists of high quality equipment, vehicles, trailers, mountain bikes, climbing equipment, inflatable tubes for descending rivers, a mobile luxury campsite, kayaks.

The idea is to facilitate experiences ("Adventure Safaris") that other operators cannot reach.

We have two hubs in South Africa, one in the Drakkensburg region and one in the Eastern Cape. There is a further hub in the South of France, where we combine the Land Adventure Safari's with the Catamaran to create an exceptional experience, our "Land and Sea Adventure Safari".

Comfort is a major factor and our vehicles and other equipment has been chosen with this in the front of our minds, but a comfort that does not intrude on the wild nature of the product.
