Program

Sardinia is a perfect setting for an ExplorAider catamaran adventure. Inland the island is rugged and mountainous, providing ideal locations for cycling and climbing, and hiking.

Deep gorges are ideal for hiking, abseiling and canyoning. Horse riding is a more sedate way of seeing the island providing the perfect adrenalin alternative for other members of the group.

Its long stretches of deserted white sandy beaches are ideal for an evening barbeque. Fantastic rock formations and natural caves provide the potential to free climb and for those brave enough who don't mind getting wet there is coasteering.

The crystal clear waters are perfect for snorkelling.

We can go on-shore to try out some of Sardinia's fabled mountain biking. We can use sea kayaks to explore the coves and hidden beaches far away from roads and tourists.

Climbing opportunities exist for everyone. Whether you are new to climbing or a 7a fanatic our guides can take you to locations that are still almost unknown, numerous crags with unpolished limestone and spectacular views adorn the island. Areas such as Osilo and Sassari in the north are the island's main climbing areas offering good single pitch sports routes and impressive sea cliff climbing on bolted limestone. Cala Gonone in the east coast is considered one of the top European rock climbing areas with single and multi pitch routes up to 400 meters long, plus a number of bouldering areas.

The boat provides the perfect way to enjoy arguably the best coastline in the Med. Sardinia is a superb ExplorAider location that allows us to facilitate the most incredible experiences for you in a land of deserted beaches, wild landscapes and a superb climate.

Thanks to our base camp, a 14m comfortable and luxurious Catamaran you can forget about traffic jams and pollution as soon as you arrive. You will fly to Sardinia where we will pick you from the airport and get you straight onto the boat.

We will explore each natural area in usual ExplorAider style, that is using the best outdoor activity or combination of activities such as trekking, mountain biking, climbing, vertical hiking, kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, coasteering, horse-riding or diving.

You will also have the possibility to take a kite-surf lesson or windsurfing lesson or if you already know how to wield our equipment against the sea breezes you can take the equipment and head off by yourself under the supervision of our guide. These activities are organised by professionals who know how to pass on their passion and love for this wild area.

Our guides will be your hosts and will ensure that you have a truly memorable experience, setting the program according to the level of the group to get the right mixture of activity, adventure, culture and entertainment.

Please contact us to discuss a program to suit your group.

A full range of activities are proposed from the boat, some of these are included and some of these are available for a supplementary cost.

Windsurfing

Sardinia has super spots for windsurfing and Panasha is equipped with 4 windsurfing boards and a variety of sails and booms to suit a range of ages and abilities. With good tuition you can be comfortable on a windsurf within 3 to 4 hours, mastering both upwind and down wind turns. From this point on you can have great fun with this addictive and fun sport. It is also the perfect exercise for strengthening and stretching your back, the perfect antidote to spending hours hunched over a computer. The use of the windsurfs and tuition is included in the price of your trip

Sea Kayaking

Panasha is equipped with 4 double sit-on top sea kayaks, these kayaks are stable and easy to manoeuvre and our perfect for all beginners and more advanced kayakers. The sea kayaks are the perfect way to explore the Sardinian coastline and allow you to get in places other boats cannot go. They can be loaded up with food and equipment for a mini-expedition. Surfing the waves is also great fun. The use of the sea kayaks and tuition is included in the price of your trip

Climbing

Panasha is equipped with climbing equipment. There is some amazing climbing around the Calanques, this is an impressive area to climb. With your ExplorAider guide you will be given the option of climbing some easy routes by the beach and / or some impressive sea cliffs that are not technically difficult. Climbing is an increasingly popular sport open to anyone young or old. It is incredibly addictive and rewarding as it is equally balanced between the physical, mental and technical aspects of the sport. Climbing with a guide and good equipment makes the sport safer than working in a bank! Climbing is available at a supplementary cost and needs to be organised in advance, please contact us for more details.

Snorkelling / Diving

Snorkelling offers amazing snorkelling and world class diving opportunities. Snorkelling equipment is always on the boat for you to use whenever you wish. Scuba diving is a supplementary activity and to avoid disappointment it is best to arrange in advance.

Trekking

Sardinia has some of the best Hiking in southern Europe, for example the Gorrupo canyon, one of the most spectacular canyons around with walls over 200m high. ExplorAider's guides will happily guide you around the best routes.

Kite Surfing

Kite Surfing requires 3 to 4 lessons of about 3 hours to master. You will start on the beach learning the theory and how to handle the kite and the safety features. Therefore if you want to try this option it may restrict your ability to explore further afield on the boat. We propose fast-track tuition to individual members of the group as a supplementary activity and cost. We can arrange this for example to fit in with a family program whilst other members of the group are taught to windsurf or go on a sea kayaking or snorkelling trip.

Horse Riding

Ride along wild beaches and explore Sardinia inland. There are remote and wild areas to explore, an incredible experience available at a supplementary cost.

Climbing from Panasha in the south of France. This climbing is open to all levels and we access these areas on Panasha. So those not climbing can swim, snorkel or watch the events from the deck with a Gin and Tonic in hand!!
A kitesurfer uses a board with foot-straps or bindings, combined with the power of a large controllable kite to propel himself and the board across the water. However, this simplicity also makes kitesurfing challenging. A kitesurfer's body is the only connection between the kite and the board. The kite is piloted in the sky while the board is steered on the water. The sport is still in its infancy, but is rapidly growing in popularity. The sport is becoming safer due to innovations in kite design and safety release systems.

The sport combines aspects of both sailing and surfing. A windsurfer holds the world speed record for sailing craft (an incredible 49.4 knots) and, windsurfers can perform jumps, inverted loops, spinning maneuvers, and other 'freestyle' moves that cannot be matched by any sailboat. Windsurfers were the first to ride the world's largest waves, such as Jaws on the island of Maui. An ExplorAider weekend introduction to this sport is something not to be missed.
